Ahoge faito?!

Ahoge faito?!

As the title says, Saber and Shana fighting with their hair is unrelated to this post.

This is about Kannagi, largely the last three episodes.

I’ll say here, right now. This show was so much better when it was doing it’s random slice of life comedy stuff. It does the drama thing decent but it was just out of character for the show in my opinion. They spent 10-11 episodes building up a specific vibe and then in the last episode or two it just all gets shut down. And then given a jolt of electricity and brought back to life. Seriously the last little bit of this show is just, I laughed, a lot. Plus, we see some moar of Nagi. :D There’s enough material for a second season. And the ending is left in such a way they could do it, or they could leave it. Though Nagi looks strange without her hair tied. That could just be that she’s had it like that *all* the time.

I liked the show, though. Very funny, kept a decent pace and it didn’t take itself too seriously and try to do a whole lot of story in just 13 episodes. I do hope that if there is a season 2, it stays with the comedy. Though I don’t know if that will happen considering the manga going on hold thanks to a few crazed otaku. -.-;

Kannagi 10

December 11, 2008

Show just annoyed me. Nothing to do with secondhand Nagi either.

Entirely because episode 10 has a dumbfounding lack of content. Shuffle shuffle sing sing. Character change! shuffle shuffle sing sing. I did like whatserfaces song. Glasses girl and the super cute song. And I will admit yes, the Lucky Star cameo made me laugh. But there was nothing to this episode at all. Really annoyed me… and I usually like slice of life, no plot line, absolutely nothing happens type shows. :p But zod help me when a show that’s supposed to have one tries to do it I get annoyed. *glares at shakugan no Shana 2*

That is all.

The new stuff, about a month late…

Toradora: Starring my favourite voice actress of all time (Kugimiya Rie) as yet another tsuntsun… except for once the… target of all her ‘affection’ isn’t the main character! yet anyway… Takasu Ryuuji is your average guy, for the most part. Except he’s got a face that makes everyone expect him to be a delinquent. So we see someone bump into him and then him and his friend both give Takasu their wallets; Which he then turns in to the lost and found. Enter Takasu’s romantic interest and then Aisaka Taiga, who promptly punches him in the jaw. (Technically not her first appearance but I didn’t count the random sneezing fit at the beginning of the episode. So far I like it, Kugimiya’s doing her tsuntsun voice yet again though not quite as psychotic as Louise, yet… Som epeople have expressed annoyance by the yet again recurring ‘baka’ and ‘inu’ words but meh. I’ll be happier when she spews out a couple “urusei urusei urusei”s. Because we haven’t had enough of that yet. :p Anyway it looks to be a good school life/tsundere/comedy/drama… not sure if the last bit counts… but I’ll know later on tomorrow.

Skip*Beat: I’m not sure exactly why I picked this one up… honestly; but I did. The first episode was a little boring but hey that’s happened before. We meet a few characters, mainly ‘Sho-chan’ the aspiring male idol and his “girlfriend” Kyoko… who’s plain old vanilla ordinary but with no makeup and no fancy cute outfits… and “questionable hair”… Which pretty much means I thought she was great… until Sho-chan turns out to be a prick and Kyoko undergoes a bit of a transformation. I have no idea what it’s supposed to be genre wise. There’s elements of comedy, romance and drama but… it’s not a whole lot of either of those. But I already want them to put Kyoko back the way she was. T-T Don’t turn her into a “pretty” girl please… (too late I know) we have way too many of those. Give us back the normal looking, more than slightly androgynous Kyoko! Prior to the new Kyoko surfacing Sho-chan issues a challenge that made me hope she was going to walk the path of the reverse trap and try to outdo him in the world of male idols… which would have been frikking awesome but noooooo. -.- They have to plaster her up with makeup and… well the new hairs not bad I’ll admit. But seriously who tucks their pants into their cowboy boots?

Kannagi: This show… made me laugh, which isn’t exactly a hard thing to do. But I did like it. It’s kind of taken bits and pieces from several other shows and roled them all into one. You’ve got a god(dess) who breaks out of a wood carving our protagonist was trying to lug to school. SHe is later assaulted by insect like things (not as bad as it sounds. :p) which she has to purify using a variation of a shrine maidens… uh… staff thing and a magical girls wand… She also winds up freeloading at aforementioned guys house. Oh, and she’s got what may prove to be a tsundere streak. I did however notice a bit of predictability at the beginning but it didn’t last through the whole episode. About the only thing I can classify this udner at the moment would have to be … comedy/supernatural nothing else really applies yet…

Anyway, I have to go sleep now because I’ve been up half an hour longer than I intended already.
